Great comparison for the two different sizes... I just picked up my D700 and I didn't see much difference just holding it in my hands other than the weight of the D700 seemed a little more.
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE CASE FOR SALE IN THE USA FOR THE D700 MIGHT BE USED FOR THE D300. I SUPPOSE THAT BOTH BEING VERY SIMILAR IN SIZE COULD USE THE SAME CASE BUT I MUST BE SURE BEFORE I BY IT ON THE INTERNET
