The second of Nikon’s product announcements this morning is for the $599.95 D3000.
Featuring a 10.2mp DX sensor, this is now Nikon’s smallest DSLR at just 5x3.8x2.5 inches (126x94x64mm), weighing in at just 16.1oz (485g). The camera features a new “guide mode”, designed to help beginners get to grips with the camera.
Headline features are a 3fps shooting speed, 3” LCD (only 230k dots, however), 1/4000s minimum shutter speed, ISO 100-1600 (plus Hi.1 at 3200) in 1EV steps, SD/SDHC compatibility, Multi-CAM 1000 11-point AF system, and 1/200s flash sync speed.
