Want a 24-70mm f/2.8, but with VR? Tamron now have one.

One request that we’ve often heard is that Nikon update the excellent 24-70mm f/2.8 with VR. Nikon may not be listening, but Tamron certainly are – and today they have announced just such a lens.

New Tamron 18-270mm superzoom for Nikon

Tamron have announced the 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD superzoom for APS-C DSLRs.  It features a new development for Tamron, a Piezo Drive (PZD) focus system that sounds similar to Nikon’s own AF-S.
The lens also features image stabilization (VC), takes 62mm filters and is described as the world’s lightest, smallest 15x zoom.

Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD now available

Tamron have advertised the availability of their already-announced 70-300mm lens. The USD in the name is what makes this one special – it stands for “Ultrasonic Drive” and is Tamron’s new equivalent to Nikon’s AF-S (and Sigma’s HSM).

This lens is designed for both FX and DX sensors.
